Indicators that demonstrate the pulse of the society such as facts about demography and health, education, income generation, ownership over resources, state of women, children and the disabled and their participation and representation in different spheres of life in developing countries including Bangladesh depict a grim picture attributed to inequality, injustice and discrimination. Part of the reasons for this is rooted in the legacy of colonial discriminatory processes within which societies evolved over centuries and secondly political upheavals in the countries/regions that caused collective damage which did not support necessary institutional and legal reforms to make the situations better. Generation of knowledge through research for revelation of the gaps leading to advocacy campaigns for addressing inequalities may help to improve the situations and Science Connect works in this important areas.
